This specialist SEMH school supports pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs, often shaped by life experiences such as trauma, adversity, or community challenges. We believe every young person has the potential to succeed, and we are looking for mentors who share that belief.
What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Positive Behaviour Mentor, you will:
-
Build trusting, consistent relationships with young people, helping them feel heard, valued, and supported
-
Encourage emotional literacy and self-awareness through mentoring and restorative conversations
-
Support pupils in developing resilience, self-regulation, and positive decision-making skills
-
Work 1:1 and in small groups, delivering intervention programmes that promote pro-social behaviour and personal growth
-
Celebrate progress, no matter how small, and help pupils recognise their own strengths
-
Collaborate with staff to create a safe, nurturing environment where every pupil can thrive
-
Support community safety work, helping young people make positive choices and avoid risks such as exploitation or peer pressure
This role is a stepping stone into careers in Forensic Psychology, Youth Justice, Social Work, Counselling, Probation, and Mental Health Services.
