EYFS Lead – Primary School – Nottingham
Milk Education are recruiting for a passionate, experienced, and inspirational EYFS Lead to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Nottingham on a long-term basis, starting in September 2026.
You’ll be joining a supportive school community that is committed to providing children with the very best start to their education. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced EYFS practitioner or teacher to take a leading role in shaping the early years provision, supporting staff, and ensuring children receive high-quality, engaging, and inclusive learning experiences.
The successful candidate will play a key role in leading the EYFS provision, working collaboratively with colleagues and creating an environment where every child feels safe, valued, and empowered to thrive.
What You’ll Be Doing in the Role:
- Leading and developing the school’s EYFS provision in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage framework
- Supporting the planning and delivery of engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences
- Ensuring high-quality provision across the seven areas of learning and development
- Monitoring children’s progress and using observations and assessments to inform next steps
- Supporting and mentoring EYFS staff and promoting high standards of teaching and learning
- Working collaboratively with teachers, teaching assistants, and the wider school team
- Creating an inclusive learning environment that meets the individual needs of all children
- Supporting children with SEND and adapting provision to ensure all pupils can access learning
- Promoting positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
- Supporting children’s personal, social, and emotional development
- Ensuring safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed consistently
- Contributing to the wider leadership and development of the school where appropriate
Essential Requirements:
- Recent and relevant experience working within an EYFS or early years setting
- Experience leading or coordinating EYFS provision is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and early childhood development
- Experience planning, assessing, and monitoring children’s learning and progress
- A relevant teaching or early years qualification
- QTS or Early Years Teacher Status (EYTS) is desirable
- A genuine passion for early years education and children’s development
- Excellent communication, organisation, and leadership skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and inspire colleagues
- A strong understanding of safeguarding and inclusive practice
