MIG Welder & Fabricator – Temp to Perm

Location: Willenhall
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
Pay: £16.00 - £18.00 per hour
Contract: Temp to Perm through Pertemps Wolverhampton

 

Pertemps Wolverhampton is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced MIG Welder & Fabricator to join a busy manufacturing team based in Willenhall. This is an excellent temp-to-perm opportunity for the right candidate, offering long-term stability with a well-established business.

The successful candidate will be involved in the manufacture, repair, and refurbishment of conveyor systems for production machinery.

Key Responsibilities

• MIG welding and fabrication of conveyor systems and production machinery.
  
  
• Building new conveyors and repairing existing conveyor equipment.
  
  
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
  
  
• Setting out materials and fabricating components to specification.
  
  
• Cutting, shaping, assembling, and welding steel components.
  
  
• Using fabrication equipment safely and efficiently.
  
  
• Maintaining high standards of quality and health & safety.
  
  

Experience RequiredApplicants should be confident using and working with:

• Industrial MIG welding equipment.
  
  
• Cutting and profiling machinery, including CNC plasma or laser cutters.
  
  
• Horizontal bandsaws for cutting structural steel.
  
  
• Hydraulic ironworkers for punching and shearing.
  
  
• Hydraulic press brakes for bending sheet metal.
  
  
• Plate rollers for forming curved sections.
  
  
• Basic TIG welding (advantageous but not essential).
  
  
• Drill presses and milling machines.
  
  
• Angle grinders and belt sanders for preparation and finishing.
  
  
• Measuring equipment and general fabrication tools.
  
  

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience as a MIG Welder/Fabricator.
  
  
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  
  
• Confident in setting out fabrication work independently.
  
  
• Excellent MIG welding and fabrication skills.
  
  
• Good attention to detail and pride in producing quality work.
  
  
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  
  
• Full UK driving licence preferred.
