About the role

Role Introduction

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Healthcare Support Worker to join our Children's Community Nursing Service, working across Hannah House and our Continuing Care & Health Short Breaks Team.

Our service supports children and young people aged 0–19 years with complex health needs, disabilities, life-limiting conditions and learning disabilities. Hannah House is a specialist 24-hour respite facility providing planned and emergency short-break care, whilst our Continuing Care & Health Short Breaks Team delivers specialist care and respite support within children's own homes across Leeds. Staff work across both settings as part of our integrated service model.

We are looking for caring, enthusiastic and resilient individuals who are passionate about working with children and making a positive difference to family life. Previous experience of working with children or vulnerable individuals is desirable but not essential. Full training, competency support and ongoing development opportunities will be provided.

The service operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and includes a mixture of days, nights, weekends and bank holidays. Flexible working requests will be considered where possible.

Working as part of a specialist multidisciplinary team, you will support children and young people with complex healthcare needs in both Hannah House and family homes.

Duties include supporting personal care, nutrition and feeding, administering delegated clinical interventions, moving and handling, supporting communication needs and helping children participate in play, social and recreational activities. You will build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues and contribute to maintaining a safe, caring and nurturing environment.

We are looking for candidates who are caring, fun, motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team. This role provides excellent opportunities to develop specialist healthcare skills and progress within children's services.

For an informal discussion please contact: Rachel Jackson, Operational Team Manager.
