Working across residential, commercial and mixed-use developments, you'll have the opportunity to manage your own projects, collaborate with experienced professionals and play a key role in delivering transport planning solutions from concept through to completion.

The Opportunity

As a Transport Planner, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality transport planning advice on a variety of developments. From preparing technical reports and undertaking site assessments to liaising with clients and local authorities, no two days will be the same.

This role offers the chance to build strong client relationships, take ownership of projects and contribute to the successful delivery of planning applications across a diverse portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a range of transport planning projects, ensuring they are delivered efficiently, within budget and to agreed timescales.
• Produce a variety of technical reports including Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans, Technical Notes and Access Appraisals.
• Analyse transport data and apply recognised methodologies to assess trip generation, distribution and network impacts.
• Prepare and review transport planning drawings, including access layouts, vehicle tracking exercises and visibility assessments.
• Carry out independent site visits to assess existing conditions and provide professional recommendations to support future developments.
• Attend meetings with clients, project teams and Local Highway Authorities, representing projects in a professional manner.
• Assist with community engagement activities and public consultation events where required.
• Develop positive working relationships with clients, architects, planning consultants and external stakeholders.
• Prepare fee quotations for smaller projects and contribute towards proposals for larger developments.

About You

You'll be an organised and motivated Transport Planner who enjoys balancing technical work with project management and client interaction. You'll be confident working independently while also contributing positively within a collaborative team environment.

To be successful, you'll ideally have:

• A degree (or equivalent qualification) in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Around two or more years' experience working within Transport Planning.
• A desire to work towards, or already be progressing with, a recognised professional qualification.
• A sound understanding of current transport planning guidance, design standards and the planning process.
• Excellent written communication skills with experience producing technical reports.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Experience using AutoCAD, TRICS and transport modelling software.
• A proactive attitude with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Working hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-17:00pm.
Location: Abingdon, Oxford
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
