About the role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Senior Residential Support Worker to join the children's residential team on behalf of our client. Reporting directly to the Homes Manager, this role offers a fantastic opportunity for an experienced support worker to take on leadership responsibilities, providing guidance to the team while directly impacting the lives of young people.

The Role at a Glance

  • Purpose: Create a safe, positive, and trauma-informed environment for children and young people. You will support the management team in the day-to-day running of the home and provide direction to support staff.
  • Key Duties: Acting as a key worker, managing challenging behaviours, conducting 1-1 staff supervisions, assisting with rota management, maintaining high-quality records, and completing sleep-in duties on a rota basis.

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience: Minimum of 12 months working in a residential children's home or a similar setting.
  • Skills: Strong leadership abilities, excellent professional judgment under pressure, applied literacy/numeracy for record-keeping, and a solid understanding of managing conflict and challenging behaviours.
  • Requirements: Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-ins. A commitment to undertaking an Enhanced DBS check and providing satisfactory references is essential.
  • Qualifications: Level 3 NVQ/Diploma in Caring for Children and Young People is highly desirable, or a willingness to actively work towards it.
