About the role

Job Title: Senior Practitioner - Secure Services

Location: Glasgow

Salary: £20.00 per hour

Lead with Impact: Shape Futures in a Specialist Environment

Are you a seasoned care professional ready to step into a pivotal leadership role within a highly specialist setting? A premier provider of secure children's services in Glasgow is seeking a dedicated Senior Practitioner to champion high-quality care and drive positive outcomes for vulnerable young people.

This is not your average residential role. It is an opportunity to join an organisation that supports young individuals facing complex social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties (EBD) resulting from early trauma. If you possess the resilience, clinical insight, and leadership capability to guide a team through rewarding challenges, this environment will allow your career to thrive.

What's In It For You?
  • Exceptional Pay: Earn a highly competitive rate of up to £22.00 per hour.

  • Ultimate Flexibility: Take complete control over your schedule by selecting shifts that suit your lifestyle via an intuitive mobile app.

  • Professional Advocacy: Benefit from a dedicated specialist consultant alongside comprehensive support navigating your SSSC registration.

  • Continuous Development: Keep your expertise sharp with access to advanced, industry-standard training and interactive online learning modules.

  • Exclusive Perks: Access a comprehensive employee discount scheme and an unlimited "Refer a Friend" bonus programme.

  • Streamlined Onboarding: Fast-track compliant candidates into immediate starts.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Senior Practitioner, you will act as a cornerstone of quality care, balancing direct support with team mentorship:

  • Therapeutic Care Delivery: Oversee and provide premium, round-the-clock trauma-informed care to young people within a secure residential setting.

  • Team Leadership & Collaboration: Guide and support existing staff teams to maintain a safe, nurturing, and highly structured environment.

  • Community & Independence: Empower service users by facilitating access to education, development sessions, and structured community activities.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Uphold flawless professional boundaries while ensuring all care aligns strictly with National Care Standards and SSSC guidelines.

  • Operational Flexibility: Participate in a varied, adaptable rota that includes nights, weekends, and holiday periods to ensure continuous service excellence.

What We Need From You
  • Proven Experience: A robust, demonstrable background in a residential childcare setting, ideally with exposure to complex needs or secure environments.

  • Qualifications: An SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) or an equivalent recognised qualification is highly desirable.

  • Essential Vetting: Active registration, or full willingness to register, under the PVG scheme.

  • Mobility: A full UK driving licence is highly preferred to support service users in community activities.

  • Key Skills: Elite interpersonal communication skills paired with a resilient, proactive, and solutions-focused approach.

Transferable Skills & Alternative Titles

This position requires advanced therapeutic care skills. Individuals with successful experience in the following roles are strongly encouraged to apply:

  • Senior Residential Support Worker / Senior Childcare Practitioner

  • Youth Justice Worker / Secure Care Officer

  • Team Leader (Children's Residential)

  • Complex Needs Support Practitioner
