We are an all-through school (ages 5-16) in the North of Bath, committed to providing exceptional education for pupils with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. We're looking for a talented Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team.
What You'll Do
As a Teaching Assistant, you'll play a vital role in fostering a positive and effective learning environment. Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting pupils with their academic work, offering both individual and group assistance.
Creating a safe and supportive learning environment specifically tailored for students with SEMH needs.
Collaborating closely with teachers to develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs).
Monitoring pupil progress and providing valuable feedback to teachers.
Assisting with classroom management and implementing effective behaviour support strategies.
Building positive relationships with pupils and their families, fostering trust and open communication.
Participating enthusiastically in school events and activities.
Who We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting children with SEMH needs and possess:
Experience working with children with SEMH needs.
A genuinely patient, understanding, and empathetic approach.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, allowing you to connect effectively with pupils, colleagues, and families.
Strong classroom management skills to maintain a productive learning atmosphere.
The ability to work effectively as part of a team, contributing to a collaborative school environment.
A relevant qualification in education or a related field is desirable, but not essential if you have the right experience and mindset.
