About the role

Exciting opportunity to join a rapidly expanding UK infrastructure and construction company that designs, builds, and maintains essential infrastructure across the UK.

Reporting to the Technical Project Director, the Engineering Manager will provide single-point leadership, assurance, and accountability for all engineering activities. They will ensure that designs are safe, compliant, buildable, and fully aligned with the project's contractual requirements, programme, and delivery objectives.

The Role:
  • Lead all engineering activities, providing technical leadership as part of the Project Leadership Team.
  • Act as the technical authority, ensuring designs are safe, compliant, buildable, and aligned with contractual, commercial, and programme objectives.
  • Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams and subcontract design partners to deliver integrated engineering solutions.
  • Manage engineering delivery in line with UK gas regulations, industry standards, and client specifications.
  • Provide engineering support throughout construction, managing technical issues, design changes, and commissioning to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, contractors, regulators, and key stakeholders to ensure effective project delivery.

Required Experience:

  • Proven experience as an Engineering Manager or Senior Project Engineer delivering major EPC or capital engineering projects.
  • Degree qualified in an engineering discipline, with Chartered Engineer status (or equivalent experience) preferred.
  • Experience in UK high-pressure gas infrastructure or other regulated, safety-critical industries such as energy, process, or heavy engineering.
  • Strong technical knowledge of multidisciplinary engineering, design, construction, and contractor management.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with project teams, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working across both design office and site environments to resolve technical challenges and support project delivery.
