Overview
We are working exclusively with our Northampton-based client, who is seeking a Part-Time Sales Ledger Clerk to join their busy and friendly team. Our client is an established organisation with a great “team spirit”. The business has continued to grow and is now a trusted specialist service provider, supporting organisations with their operational needs and challenges.Role Description
Reporting to the Finance Manager, duties include:- Manage the day-to-day sales ledger, ensuring customer accounts are maintained accurately.
- Prepare and process sales invoices, credit notes and related documentation.
- Upload invoices to customer portals and monitor their progress through to payment.
- Allocate incoming payments and reconcile customer accounts.
- Proactively manage credit control activities and build positive relationships with customers.
- Investigate and resolve invoice and payment queries in a timely manner.
- Support month-end processes, reconciliations and reporting.
- Maintain accurate financial records and contribute to the smooth running of the finance function.
- Provide support to colleagues during busy periods and holiday cover, demonstrating a team-focused approach.
The Candidate
We are looking for someone with previous experience within a sales ledger or finance environment who enjoys working in a busy, collaborative team. You will have excellent attention to detail, strong numerical accuracy and a proactive approach to managing your workload. Confident communicating with customers and colleagues alike, you will be comfortable resolving queries professionally and building positive working relationships. Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and accounting software, are important, along with the ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines and work accurately under pressure. Most importantly, you will be someone who takes pride in delivering a high standard of work and enjoys being part of a supportive and friendly team.Remuneration
- Salary: up to £30,000 per annum pro rota (depending on experience)
- 25 hours a week (Monday – Friday)
- 23 days holidays plus bank holidays
