Job Introduction

Job Title: School Cleaner
Salary: £7635 per annum
Hours: 12.5 hours per week made up of 2.5 hours per day Monday to Friday between 3:15-6pm, plus some hours in the holidays.

We are looking for a School Cleaner to work with our Site Manager and current cleaning team.

Hours of duty: 12 hours 30 minutes over 5 days, 2.5 hours per day, Monday – Friday during term time between 3:15-6pm, plus 10 days (25 hours) during the holidays by arrangement with the Site Manager. Holidays to be taken outside the normal school term dates (i.e. during school holiday periods).

The Site Manager and cleaning team as a whole are responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the school. Each cleaner will be responsible for an area and will be expected to clean to the frequency and standard set out. At the direction of the Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher or Site Manager, cleaning staff will clean other areas as required.

The Headteacher will delegate the monitoring of the cleaning to the Site Manager and it is his responsibility to ensure that high standards of cleanliness are reached and maintained. From time to time the Headteacher or Deputy Headteacher also will carry out spot checks on any aspect of cleanliness they feels are appropriate.


Disclosure Barring Service (DBS)
This post is exempt under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of criminal records via the Disclosure and Barring Service before the appointment is confirmed. This will include details of cautions, reprimands, or final warnings, as well as convictions. The County Council has a commitment to safeguarding service users in our care.
