Preconstruction Manager – Exeter + Remote Work

Water / Waste Water projects (Water Treatment Plants, Pumping Stations, Water Assets)

Ideal opportunity for an already experienced Preconstruction Manager or a Bid Manager looking for promotion.

COMPANY:

My client is a leading civil engineering contractor working on a long term water framework.

ROLE:

As Preconstruction Manager you will lead on tender bids on the South West Water Framework, taking responsibility for the projects from inception to contract award. 

DUTIES:

As Preconstruction Manager your duties will include:

-Liaise with the Estimating Team to ensure timeframes are achieved for the technical and commercial elements of bids.

-Take the lead on tenders with the SWW representatives establishing win strategies and key client drivers for selection.

-Lead in tender bid settlements with the appropriate grade of director personnel who can sign off bids.

-Work within a small pre-construction team based within the SWW Framework Team liaising with the construction delivery teams prior to contract award.

-Liaise with design managers or lead the pre-construction design process depending on the project size and complexity.

-Liaising with other teams – Managing Estimator & Estimating team, Construction delivery teams, Design Managers, Planning Manager.

-Lead bids and take responsibility for - client liaison during bid, technical bid submissions, lead bid settlement meetings with appropriate director.

REQUIREMENTS: 

To be considered for this Preconstruction Manager role you must meet the following criteria:

- Ideally previous Water sector experience, alternatively experience working in other civil engineering or highways sectors may be considered transferable.
- Previous employment as a Bid Manager or Preconstruction Manager.  
- Extensive site experience, comprehensive pre-construction experience – bid writing/ submissions.

 - Previous Main Contractor employment.
- High level of communication skills. 
- Ideally a relevant construction industry qualification (Degree / HND / HNC etc).
