About the role

Job Title: HR Advisor

Location: Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria
Contract: 12-month Contract (Inside IR35)
Rates: £31.93 ph Umbrella* | £23.81 ph PAYE

*Umbrella rate quoted is the gross rate paid to the umbrella company (inclusive of all employment costs). Take-home pay will be lower. Please get in touch for a full breakdown of available payment options.

Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be eligible to obtain SC clearance, complete BPSS checks, be eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship, have lived and worked in the UK for the past five years, and be a sole British national in accordance with UK Eyes Only requirements.

The Opportunity

We're looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join a busy People team supporting a large, complex manufacturing environment. You'll work closely with HR Leads, Partners and business stakeholders, providing practical people advice, supporting key HR processes and helping to deliver people-focused solutions that align with business objectives.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Act as a key point of contact for employees and HR-related queries
  • Provide advice on a range of people issues, policies and procedures
  • Support the implementation of HR initiatives and change activities
  • Work with HR teams and Centres of Excellence to deliver business-focused solutions
  • Monitor and analyse people data to support decision-making and performance improvement
  • Drive engagement with key HR processes and systems, including SuccessFactors
  • Support knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across the business
  • Use HR systems to maintain records, input data and produce reports
  • Coach and influence stakeholders in line with business priorities
  • Work within a manufacturing, unionised and project-based environment

What You'll Need to Succeed

Essential:

  • Experience working within an HR Advisory or generalist HR role
  • Good understanding of HR policies, procedures and employment law
  • Experience supporting employees and managers on people-related matters
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent experience)

Desirable:

  • Experience working in a manufacturing or unionised environment
  • Experience using HR systems and people data to support business decisions
