About the role

Job Introduction

The Dormston Centre, a dynamic dual-use facility within Dormston School, sprang to life in April 2000 thanks to the support of The National Lottery and Sport England. Featuring a large Sports Hall, a Floodlit Synthetic Pitch, and a purpose-built 350-seat Theatre, the Centre, alongside other school amenities, actively drives Arts, Sports, and Adult Education in North Dudley. We're dedicated to providing exceptional facilities at accessible prices in a welcoming space, empowering local individuals to hire, host, participate, and engage in a wide array of exciting activities.

This is a highly rewarding opportunity to make a real difference right here in your local area—inspiring your neighbours, boosting community well-being, and contributing to the vibrant culture of lifelong learning in North Dudley.

We are looking for passionate people to design and deliver engaging one-off workshops or short series of evening and weekend classes. You bring the expertise, and we provide the welcoming space. This casual, flexible format means you can easily work around your existing job, family life, or retirement commitments.

We want our course catalogue to be as diverse as our community! We are looking for tutors with skills in a wide variety of areas, including (but certainly not limited to):

  • Arts, Crafts & Design: Sewing, knitting, textiles, painting, sketch work, pottery, or jewellery making.
  • Hobbies & Leisure Interests: Gardening, local history, calligraphy, digital photography, or music.
  • Practical & Everyday Skills: Basic home DIY, computer literacy, budget cooking, or conversational foreign languages.
  • Health & Holistic Wellbeing: Gentle exercise, yoga, Pilates, mindfulness, or relaxation techniques.

Grade 7 £16.34 per hour
