Senior M&E PlannerLocation: Teesside (Office / Site Based) If you are an experienced Senior M&E Planner looking to join a high-performing project controls team delivering major engineering and construction projects, we would welcome your application.The Opportunity Our client is seeking an experienced and driven Senior M&E Planner to join their Project Controls team supporting the delivery of major engineering and construction projects across a diverse portfolio. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the planning and successful execution of complex Mechanical & Electrical projects from FEED and detailed design through procurement, construction, commissioning and handover. You will be working closely with Project Managers, Engineering Leads, Construction Teams and Clients, responsible for developing, maintaining and controlling project schedules, ensuring accurate reporting, resource planning, risk management and programme delivery.Key Responsibilities Lead and mentor a team of Planning Engineers across multiple M&E disciplines. Develop, manage and maintain detailed project schedules throughout the project lifecycle. Create and manage resource-loaded and cost-loaded programmes. Establish and maintain project baselines in accordance with client and company procedures. Develop robust Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) aligned with project scope and execution strategy. Monitor project progress, analyse schedule performance and report on key milestones and deliverables. Identify programme risks and opportunities, developing mitigation and recovery plans where required. Lead planning and scheduling workshops with project teams and stakeholders. Integrate subcontractor and supplier programmes into the master project schedule. Manage programme change control and assess impacts to critical path activities. Support project teams with planning, forecasting and performance reporting. Lead Earned Value Management (EVM) activities and performance analysis. Challenge schedule and cost variances and drive corrective actions. Facilitate progress review meetings with clients, subcontractors and project stakeholders. Produce and present planning reports, Gantt charts and project performance dashboards. Ensure planning data is accurate, up-to-date and aligned with wider project controls processes. Support project resourcing activities and planning team development. Promote a strong safety culture with a relentless focus on Zero Harm principles. Support sustainability initiatives and continuous improvement across the project portfolio.About You The successful candidate will have significant experience within project controls, planning or project delivery environments and be capable of operating confidently within large-scale engineering, infrastructure or construction projects.Essential Experience Proven experience across the full project lifecycle including Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation and Commissioning. Strong experience developing and managing complex project schedules. Advanced Primavera P6 planning experience. Experience creating cost-loaded and resource-loaded schedules. Strong understanding of critical path analysis and project controls methodologies. Experience applying Earned Value Management (EVM) principles. Excellent analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills. Experience integrating supplier and subcontractor programmes into master schedules. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary project teams. Experience working within regulated engineering, construction or infrastructure environments.Desirable Experience Membership of a recognised professional body such as APM. Experience attending and contributing to industry forums and events. HNC, HND or Degree qualification in Engineering, Construction, Project Controls or a related discipline.
