About the Role
Zest Education is working in partnership with a number of secondary schools across Coventry and the surrounding areas who are seeking reliable, confident Cover Supervisors to support with day-to-day and short-term supply cover.
This role is ideal for graduates or individuals with experience working with young people — such as through coaching, mentoring, youth work or volunteering — who are considering a future career in teaching and want valuable classroom experience.
There is high demand in Coventry, with September starts available.
The Role Responsibilities
As a Cover Supervisor, you will:
- Deliver pre-planned lessons across a variety of subjects
- Maintain a positive, safe and engaging learning environment
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Keep students focused, motivated and on task
- Provide feedback to teaching staff following lessons
What We’re Looking For
We welcome applications from candidates who have:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A genuine passion for working with young people
- Good levels of numeracy and literacy
- The confidence to manage a classroom independently
Previous school-based experience is beneficial but not essential.
Applicants must have either:
- A minimum of 20 days’ experience working with children or young people, or
- Be a recent university graduate
Ideal Backgrounds Include (but aren’t limited to):
- Recent graduates
- Sports coaches
- Youth workers
- Dance teachers
- Scout or Guide leaders
These roles develop transferable skills that are well suited to classroom supervision.
