About the role

We’re looking for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join a leading engineering business, based in Chorley. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical knowledge and a track record in manufacturing engineering, combined with experience working on projects. You’ll be joining a dynamic team where you can apply your skills to support project delivery and manufacturing optimisation.
Salary
£40,000 – £46,000 per annum, depending on experience.
Location and Working Pattern
Chorley, Lancashire – 37 hours per week, Monday to Thursday.

Responsibilities

Interpret and analyse engineering drawings and specifications for manufacturing.
Generate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and configure in MRP/ERP systems.
Identify optimal manufacturing methodologies and create detailed routings.
Support project delivery within scope, budget and agreed timescales.
Manage and resolve technical issues, liaising with subcontractors as required.
Monitor manufacturing quality performance and manage Non-Conformance Reports.
Oversee production and provide technical support to internal teams and suppliers.
Produce accurate reports for inclusion in project updates and meetings.

 
Must‑have Requirements

Proven experience in Manufacturing Engineering.
Minimum of HNC/HND in an Engineering or Manufacturing discipline.
Experience in managing or leading people.
Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems (Business Central preferred).
Experience managing projects or programmes of work in a delivery environment.

 
Nice‑to‑have Skills

Background in varied manufacturing techniques including fabrication, machining and welding.
Understanding of NEC contracts and commercial principles.
Experience with AutoCAD or other drawing software.
Knowledge of project risk and cost management.
