Core Trainee (SHO) – Infectious Diseases, Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast

Grayscale Medical is recruiting a Core Trainee (SHO level) for a 3-month locum assignment within the Infectious Diseases department at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast Health and Social Care Trust. This is a Monday–Friday daytime position (09:00–17:00) starting immediately.

Role Details

You will work as part of the Infectious Diseases team within RVH Medicine, managing inpatients with complex infections, antimicrobial stewardship cases, and providing specialist input across the hospital. The shift pattern is regular weekday hours, making this an excellent opportunity for doctors seeking predictable locum work in a tertiary infectious diseases unit.

Requirements

• Valid GMC registration with licence to practise
• Minimum 6 months UK clinical experience (clinical attachments/observerships not accepted)
• Right to work in the UK
• Up-to-date AccessNI clearance (DBS does not suffice for Northern Ireland)
• ALS/ILS certification from an accredited provider (e.g. Resuscitation Council UK)
• Completed transfusion training (Safe Transfusion Practice, Blood Components, RPRB competencies)
• Infection Control, Hyponatraemia, and Deprivation of Liberty training certificates
• Two recent clinical references in specialty and grade
• Professional indemnity insurance
