Specialty Trainee (ST3+/IMT3+) – General Medicine, Mater Infirmorum Hospital, Belfast

Grayscale Medical is recruiting a Specialty Trainee (Registrar level, IMT3+/ST3+) for long-term locum shifts in General Medicine at the Mater Infirmorum Hospital (MIH), Belfast Health and Social Care Trust. Multiple day and night shifts available from September 2026 through November 2027.

Role Details

You will provide senior medical cover within the Unscheduled Care division at the MIH, managing acute medical admissions, leading ward rounds, supervising junior trainees, and making clinical decisions for patients with undifferentiated medical presentations. Shifts include a mix of daytime (09:00–21:30) and overnight (21:00–09:30) cover across weekdays and weekends.

Available shifts span multiple months, offering the flexibility to pick up regular work over an extended period — ideal for doctors seeking consistent locum income alongside other commitments.

Requirements

• Valid GMC registration with licence to practise
• IMT3+ or ST3+ level training (or equivalent experience at Registrar grade)
• Right to work in the UK
• Up-to-date AccessNI clearance
• ALS/ILS certification
• Two recent clinical references at specialty and grade
• Professional indemnity insurance
