Join the team in Hertfordshire, a specialist engineering site focused on deployable, high-performance communications tech the kind used when standard networks go down or don't exist. It's very hands-on, with teams designing and delivering systems that are used in real-world operations globally.
Overview
As a Prototype Wire Person, you will work as part of a small, collaborative team to produce high-quality communication equipment, ensuring all work meets required standards and delivery timescales.
Main responsibilities:
- Carry out electro-mechanical assembly
- Build sub-assemblies and complete systems in line with engineering drawings and build procedures
- Monitor product quality throughout the build process, contributing to continuous improvement against production targets
- Panel wiring
- Cable assembly and crimping
- Rack wiring
- PCB assembly
- Assembly and rework of components
- Wiring of test boxes
- Soldering, including through-hole and surface-mount components
- Ensure the security of information in line with organisational information security policies
Experience needed:
- Proven experience in electrical/mechanical assembly and wiring, including prototype wiring
- High attention to detail, with a commitment to maintaining quality standards and the ability to work independently
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, following procedures accurately
- A proactive mindset, with a willingness to learn and develop
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain the required security clearance (BPSS)
