Registered Veterinary Nurse

Our client, an RCVS-accredited, well-established, friendly mixed practice, is seeking a proactive and compassionate full-time Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their dedicated and caring team. This practice prides itself on providing excellent first-opinion care to its patients and a great service to its loyal, long-standing clients. You will be joining a supportive network of vets, nurses, ACAs, and receptionists.

The practice boasts impressive facilities, including two operating theatres with multi-parameter monitors, the latest Karl Storz laparoscopy equipment for performing lap spays, a fully equipped lab with the latest haematology, biochemistry, electrolyte, and therapeutic monitoring analysers, an ultrasound scanner, digital radiography, and a dedicated dental x-ray unit.

The Role

This is a full-time, permanent position, working 40 hours per week, based at their Greenock branch. The role includes a 1 in 4 weekend rota (Saturday 8 am-3 pm, Sunday 9 am-12:30 pm) with no on-call duties.

Duties are based on a rota system and include:

• Caring for both medical and surgical patients post-op

• Assisting vets in both theatre and prep area

• Ordering and stock control of pharmacy

• Caring for isolation patients

• Lab work

The practice is keen to increase the availability of nurse consultations and develop a range of nurse clinics. Personal growth is actively encouraged, and candidates looking to pursue further qualifications would be welcomed.
