About the role
Introduction
Candor Vets is delighted to present an outstanding opportunity for a Senior Registered Veterinary Nurse to join a well-established practice located in a beautiful area of London. This full-time position offers the chance to lead an experienced nursing team and contribute to a high standard of patient care.
The Role
This is a full-time senior position, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The role includes a 1:4 branch Saturday rotation and a 1:10 Saturday rotation at a nearby hospital, plus one bank holiday per year. There are no on-call requirements. The successful candidate will benefit from full support from a dedicated regional manager, and out-of-hours care is provided by a 24-hour hospital just a 20-minute drive away.
The practice itself is well-equipped, featuring ample facilities for general practice diagnostic and surgical procedures, including an imaging suite and a blood diagnosis suite. Leadership training is provided to assist new senior colleagues in their transition into this role.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for the nursing team, ensuring the provision of high-quality and continually improving standards of nursing care.
Assist veterinary surgeons in theatre and during consultations.
Ensure the provision of high-quality and continually improving standards of nursing care, comfort, and welfare for all pets.
Utilise Schedule 3 skills as directed.
Ensure all diagnostic, surgical, and medical equipment and instruments are serviced, maintained, and in full working order.
Carry out a weekly audit of Controlled Drugs in accordance with prescribed protocols.
Responsible for staff working on reception, ensuring a high standard of client care through excellent communication and service.
Manage the daily operation of the reception area, ensuring friendly and efficient handling of clients and their pets.
Support student nurses as a clinical supervisor.

The practice is situated in one of London’s most desirable areas. Clapham Common, with its lush green space, is a mere 5-minute walk away. Battersea Power Station, offering a plethora of shopping and restaurant options, is a 15-minute drive or 30-minute train journey away. The practice is conveniently located a 15-minute walk from Clapham Junction station and a 20-minute walk from Clapham South (Northern Line).
