Logistics and Distribution Manager

My client is looking for a Logistics and Distribution Manager to join their team.

They are keen to have someone who has strong previous experience in a busy environment. They work in a high value, good customer service, tight deadline environment, so looking for people who understand the importance of delivering a good service and on time. They are looking for a First line manager who has previous experience with personnel management, conflict resolution, effective communications and training/development experience.

Location: Colnbrook, Slough

Logistics and Distribution Manager duties:

• Responsible for Developing and implementing processes
• Manage a team and distributing the workload
• Developing and implementing processes to ensure the accurate check in and tracking of all Equipment
• Ensuring all procedures involved in accurately recording stock coming back in
• Interpreting workflow from the sales team
• Work with the Account Handlers, to ensure phased delivery orders are kept up to date and allocated to the team
• Ensuring shortages are reported and dealt with in a timely manner,
• Ensuring scanning accuracy for each Equipment Despatch
• Investigating and implementing control measures for each Equipment Despatch
• Ensure all Quality control checks are carried out
• Continuously review with the team and drive improvements
• Advise on vehicle size and loading considering load weight
• Liaise with the distribution team to ensure the correct trucks are present on the bays
• Work with the late shift leader to hand over workload and ensure all next day orders are completed, and any sub hires are clearly discussed to make it to the right vehicle / bay.

Logistics and Distribution Manager Attributes:

• Great and demonstrable leadership skills
• Very good communication skills.
• Must be IT literate / Good understanding of operating systems.
• Adaptable to a fast-paced environment with the highest expectations of service and quality.
