About the role

A welcoming mainstream primary school in Coventry seeks a committed KS1 Teaching Assistant for a full‑time September start. You support pupils with lower academic ability and help them access learning with confidence. Moreover, you create calm routines that help children feel secure and ready to learn. In addition, you work closely with the class teacher to deliver structured tasks and clear guidance. Throughout the day, you encourage positive behaviour, build strong relationships and promote steady progress.

 

Key Responsibilities of a KS2 Teaching Assistant

  • Provide KS1 classroom support that meets the needs of pupils with lower academic ability
  • Deliver small‑group activities that reinforce key skills and build confidence
  • Use clear routines to support structure and reduce anxiety
  • Prepare adapted learning tasks that match individual learning needs
  • Support positive behaviour approaches through calm communication and predictable expectations
  • Work closely with teachers and support staff to maintain consistent provision
  • Encourage early literacy and numeracy skills through guided practice

  • A qualified or experienced Teaching Assistant with strong KS1 knowledge
