An amazing opportunity has arisen for a Major Donor Manager / Major Gifts Manager to join this global international relief charity at their Hertfordshire UK HQ. This is an ideal role, and would suit a candidate with some previous experience in delivering 5 figure gifts from individuals. Working with the Philanthropy Director & the wider fundraising team, you will be developing and managing a significant portfolio pipeline of up to 100 prospects utilising CRM, Wealth Screening & internal insights.

You will increase the breadth and depth of the charity’s current major gifts pipeline by building and expanding relationships through the engagement of Trustees, the Executive Team, and donor networks, building strong relationships through regular personal engagement and tailored stewardship. You will be representing the charity at meetings, events and networking opportunities to cultivate new donor relationships. You will create donor development plans for top prospects – identifying donors’ motivations and needs and thinking creatively to respond to these to secure five-figure gifts to support the charity’s programmes and strategic priorities. With excellent all-round communications skills you will prepare compelling funding proposals, impact reports and donor communications tailored to individual supporters. You will develop and implement creative cultivation opportunities, including events, briefings and mission-focused engagement that inspire deeper philanthropic commitment. Working collaboratively with colleagues in marketing and communications to deliver meaningful donor engagement opportunities as well as maintaining accurate CRM records, producing regular reports on progress against targets and be able to make data-led decisions. The position can be hybrid – dependent on candidate location (the office is in Hertfordshire) with a minimum of 2 office days/week. You will be able to demonstrate previous experience in Major Gift / Major Donor / Philanthropy fundraising with 5-figure asks, strong communication & relationship management skills, excellent organisation in managing multiple priorities, collaborative team working abilities and a positive, intuitive attitude, and a willingness to learn & to take initiative with a practical “can-do!” approach.
