An outstanding opportunity exists in this role for an expanding Charity based in London for an experienced Charity Head of Fundraising / Director of Income / Senior Fundraising Manager with a broad expertise around charity fundraising to head up their income driving capabilities. The role would suit a Senior Fundraiser who likes to be involved at the coalface of fundraising in a hands-on manner as well as being able to drive the strategic direction. The role is offered as a part-time 0.6 – 0.8 FTE leaving candidates open to other interests for 1-2 days a week. The role is hybrid with the expectations of 2 days in the office minimum each week (Kentish Town area in London). You will be an integral part of the newly structured senior leadership team and work closely with the CEO and senior colleagues, managing a small team and the direction of their fundraising activities. With a broad understanding of fundraising across several streams (a combination of a few rather than an expert in all – Individual Giving, Corporate, Major Donor, Trusts & Foundations, Events, etc), you will be responsible for coordinating and developing their income function, converting their strategic fundraising objectives into operational plans, leading their Outreach team and representing the organisation externally. However, the role is not solely governance and leadership – we need a do-er who is comfortable working in a small team and sharing responsibilities, including submitting fundraising proposals and leading our reporting.

You will work closely with the CEO, Director of Programmes and their Head of Outreach to ensure they are communicating the charity’s value proposition coherently and effectively to the important stakeholders that make their work possible. This is not a traditional fundraising director role – we are looking for a skilled generalist who can meet the charity where they are by working confidently across trusts and grants, corporate partnerships and traded services simultaneously as well as expanding the income streams that are possible. The charity are a small organisation with 10 staff plus a variety of skilled volunteers, so while this role is leadership-oriented, the postholder will be expected to support colleagues across the organisation. The aim is to raise the income streams (with measured milestones) from £750k to £1.5 million by 2028 and build from there.

You will be able to demonstrate significant experience in charity fundraising management in a charity, CIC or social enterprise (any experience in the digital inclusion, adult education or refugee support sector very helpful). You have strong monitoring, evaluation and reporting skills and experience in addition to your fundraising expertise, financial management experience (budgets, reporting). You have excellent relationship-building skills, experience managing, training and motivating staff and volunteers. You are a strategic thinker with strong organisational and collaborative skills with excellent written and verbal communication.
