Optical Assistant

Newcastle upon Tyne, a vibrant and well-connected city offering excellent transport links, a lively cultural scene, and a strong sense of community We are looking for a friendly and professional Optical Assistant to join a welcoming optical practice in Newcastle upon Tyne. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys patient interaction, delivering excellent customer service, and supporting the smooth day-to-day running of a busy practice.

• Greet and assist patients in a warm, professional manner, both in person and over the phone

• Support Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians during eye examinations and patient consultations

• Assist patients with frame selection, lens options, and aftercare advice

• Manage appointment bookings, patient records, and general administrative tasks

• Carry out pre-screening and other clinical support duties where required

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation throughout the practice

• Build positive relationships with patients to ensure a welcoming and reassuring experience

• Previous experience as an Optical Assistant required

• Friendly, organised, and customer-focused

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

• A positive team player with a professional attitude
