About the role
Protection Engineer required for a major Offshore Wind Farm Developer based in The United States. Responsibilities: Perform commissioning, testing, validation, and troubleshooting of protection and control systems for high-voltage electrical installations. Configure, test, and maintain protection relays, control systems, and associated communication interfaces. Support installation, energization, and commissioning activities for HVDC and HVAC transmission projects. Analyse protection system performance and investigate faults, disturbances, and equipment failures. Review and interpret protection schemes, single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation. Conduct relay settings verification and protection coordination studies as required. Participate in site acceptance testing (SAT), factory acceptance testing (FAT), and commissioning procedures. Requirements: Valid full GWOs. Experience as an HVDC Protection Engineer. Strong knowledge of Siemens HVDC protection and control equipment. Experience supporting Siemens HVDC commissioning or service projects. Experience with offshore wind transmission systems, converter stations, or grid connection projects. Knowledge of IEC standards applicable to protection and control systems.
