About the role
A leading UK law firm is seeking an Associate to join its highly regarded Planning & Infrastructure team in Scotland. Based in Edinburgh or Glasgow, this role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile and complex matters across the energy and utilities, real estate and transport sectors. The role: Advising on planning law and infrastructure consenting regimes in Scotland and the wider UK Supporting major development and infrastructure projects, including energy and transport schemes Drafting and negotiating planning obligations and related agreements Advising on environmental, EIA, biodiversity and sustainability matters Supporting planning appeals, inquiries and judicial review proceedings Working collaboratively with colleagues across real estate, projects, corporate and finance teams Building strong client relationships and contributing to business development Experience: Scots law qualified (or dual qualified), ideally NQ-3 years' PQE Experience or strong interest in planning and infrastructure consenting Backgrounds in planning, real estate, public sector, disputes or in-house desirable, including energy or government environments Ability to confidently draft legally effective documents reflecting client instructions Keen to develop legal skillset and continuous learning
