Opportunity to join a growing high voltage EPC firm as a Relay Testing Manager / Senior Relay Engineer. Must be able to travel. Seeking candidates with strong knowledge on relay & apparatus testing in high voltage settings. PROFILE Our Client is an electrical engineering and construction company with expertise in high voltage grid interconnection and transmission. They are seeking a senior level P&C / Relay Testing individual to work with and lead the testing team on their construction sites within the continental US. Position Summary Must be able to safely work in energized utility class substations. Must be able to lead a team and exhibit/maintain a positive attitude. Individual will be responsible for testing utility transmission grade relays and performing all associated functional testing of protective schemes on projects within the continental US. Individual will be capable of commissioning and troubleshooting substation SCADA systems. Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Position Plan, prepare and execute test plans with Doble Protection Suite or equivalent software/equipment. Plan and perform functional testing of complex protection schemes. Responsible for overall quality and conformance to specifications of the project. Troubleshoot and resolve design and wiring issues. Communicate progress and issues to Project Manager and others company management. Track and organize project testing documentation for inclusion in closeout packages The successful candidate will have the following Skills/Experience/Abilities Ability to professionally represent the Company with clients, owners, vendors and subcontractors Push issues to resolution Self motivated Strong verbal, presentation, and written communication skills Excellent ability to understand technical drawings & ability to understand specifications Capability and inclination to research and self-teach unfamiliar subject matter Experience (3-5 years) testing SEL, GE, ABB, Basler microprocessor based relays Understanding of protective relays and schemes including overcurrent, differential, line, voltage and frequency protection applications Perform SCADA testing with SEL RTAC and or similar vendors equipment Strong computer skills in MS Office, Doble Protection Suite, RTS, SEL Acselerator, Adobe and others as needed Perform in-service checks in energized substations Requirements Minimum Associates degree in Electrical Tecnhology/Engineering, Bachelors preferred or equivalent experience in industry (10+ years) preferred. Travel: can be up to 75% average (annual) Clean driving record Work in challenging ambient conditions including, outdoors, hot and cold temperatures and loud noises Must be able to lift and carry heavy equipment and materials up to 60 lbs. Must be able to work in elevated positions. OSHA 10 hour (minimum) NFPA 70E FA/CPR training NICET or NETA level 2 or higher qualified
