Class 2 HGV Drivers – Skip, Hook Loader & Tipper Drivers Required

Hours: 40–50 hours per week, with overtime opportunities available

Pay Rate: £14.46 per hour

Overtime Rate: £21.69 per hour

About the Role

Proactive Recruitment is currently recruiting Class 2 HGV Drivers on behalf of a leading waste management, recycling, and construction services business in the North East and Scotland.

We are looking for experienced and reliable drivers to operate a variety of vehicles, including Skip Loaders, Hook Loaders, and Tippers. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established company offering stable work, competitive pay, and opportunities for progression.

Key Responsibilities

As a Class 2 HGV Driver, your duties may include:

• Safely operating Skip, Hook Loader, or Tipper vehicles on planned routes
• Transporting waste, recycling, aggregates, construction materials, and containers
• Loading and unloading vehicles in line with operational requirements
• Conducting daily vehicle safety inspections and reporting defects
• Maintaining accurate vehicle and tachograph records
• Adhering to all road traffic legislation, health and safety regulations, and company procedures
• Delivering a professional and reliable service to customers and site contacts

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need:

• A valid Class 2 (Category C) HGV licence
• Valid CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph Card
• No more than 6 penalty points on your licence
• A strong commitment to safety and professionalism
• Previous experience operating Skip, Hook Loader, Tipper, Waste Management, Recycling, Construction, or similar HGV vehicles is advantageous
• A flexible and positive attitude with a strong work ethic
