Director of Product Design

This is an independent, New Orleans-born eyewear label that has transformed into a genuine luxury name: worn by musicians, athletes and actors you’d recognise immediately. 

In the founder’s words: “What has lived primarily through instinct, taste, and direct involvement now needs to become a true system.” This is not iterating inside someone else’s process. It’s building the process itself.

The Role
You’ll own end-to-end product design across optical and sunglasses, from concept through production readiness. That means leading silhouette development, material and colour work, and construction detailing; driving CADs, tech packs, sampling and fit validation; and managing overseas factory relationships so execution holds to design intent. 

You’ll build the technical documentation and design systems that let quality scale, own trend research and competitive analysis with minimal support, and partner with planning and merchandising to shape assortment. Your job is to be the senior hand who executes at the highest level and codifies how it gets done.

The Person
You’re a specialist eyewear Designer with 5 – 8+ years across both sun and optical, currently in-house or at a frame-producing studio. You’ve led product end-to-end and are fluent in eyewear construction, materials and fit. Crucially, you’ve built and standardised technical processes before – not just designed well, but documented how good design repeats. 

You’re advanced in CAD and Adobe Creative Suite, comfortable with overseas manufacturing, and ready to be the senior design authority while creative direction sits with a founder.
