Skilled Labourer

Cogent Staffing are recruiting for a Skilled Labourer for our client based in Ashton-under-Lyne, although they will be required to work from offices across Manchester. The ideal candidate will have their own transport for travel across Manchester, and must have groundwork and landscaping experience.

Any successful applicants will be subject to a basic DBS check.

Shifts & salary:

• Monday to Friday, 39.5 hours a week
• Flexibility with hours outside of normal office hours, with flexi time.
• £26,191 salary per annum, £12.75 an hour

Key responsibilities:

• Undertaking landscaping related tasks, such as fencing and ground preparation at social housing providers.
• Flag laying, kerbing, prepping for tarmac.
• Overseeing different projects and reporting to managers.
• Supervising the team on site in absence of team leaders.
• Perform groundskeeping duties such as mowing, trimming, and weeding.
• Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
• Handling tasks for drainage, kerbs, paths, flagging, concrete mixing.
• Following health and safety standards and risk assessment instructions.
• Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently.
• Provide a helpful and friendly face to any tenants.

Key requirements:

• Previous experience in landscaping or groundwork or a related field is essential.
• Must hold a current CSCS card.
• A full UK driving licence and own transport is essential.
• Supervisory experience is beneficial.
• Basic mechanical knowledge to assist with equipment maintenance is beneficial.
• Experience with groundwork and fencing tasks; laying flags, mixing concrete, erecting fencing.
• A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions are essential traits for success in this role.
• Any construction qualification, or other relevant qualification is beneficial.
