About the role

Principal Metallurgy Engineer
 
Summary
Seeking expressions of interest for a potential upcoming project with starts expected towards the end of June. We are looking for a Principal Metallurgy Engineer to provide expertise in material selection and corrosion control in support of onshore oil and gas design phases.
 
Salary
Competitive day rates (outside IR35)
 
Location and Working Pattern
Woking, UK – Office-based, 5 days per week
 
Responsibilities

Review and approve material specifications for piping and equipment
Provide guidance on corrosion mitigation and material compatibility
Conduct failure analysis and advise on field material performance issues
Support design calculations related to material stress resistance
Interface with engineering disciplines and procurement for material supply
Ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, and client specifications

 
Must-have Requirements

Significant experience in metallurgical engineering for oil & gas projects
Strong understanding of material degradation mechanisms and coatings
Ability to review design specifications for metallurgy and welding practices

 
Nice-to-have Skills

Experience delivering projects to Aramco standards (SAES) highly desirable
Knowledge of welding, fabrication, and NDT practices
