About the RoleWe are looking for a talented Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Energy team, delivering electrical engineering solutions across major projects within the nuclear and wider regulated sectors. You will lead design activities throughout the project lifecycle, from concept and detailed design through to installation and commissioning, while providing technical leadership and support to project teams.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development and delivery of electrical engineering designs and solutions.
Produce specifications, technical reports, calculations, and design documentation.
Support systems engineering activities and requirements capture.
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, cybersecurity, and regulatory requirements.
Review and check technical deliverables from junior engineers.
Provide technical guidance and mentoring.
Liaise with clients, regulators, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
Support project planning, cost estimating, and risk management activities.
Skills & Experience
Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership.
Experience within nuclear or other highly regulated industries.
Strong knowledge of HV systems, including switchgear, transformers, generators, and grid connections.
Experience preparing HV specifications, datasheets, and drawings (SLDs, protection and metering diagrams).
Understanding of electrical system analysis and relevant industry standards (IEC, IEEE, BS, ONR guidance).
Strong communication, problem-solving, and technical leadership skills.
