IT SUPPORT TECHNICIAN – Tameside

We are seeking a knowledgeable and proactive IT Support Technician to join a high school in the six weeks holidays, The successful candidate will provide technical assistance and support to the IT manager ensuring the smooth operation of hardware, software, and network systems. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your expertise in computer networking, operating systems, and technical support within a dynamic environment. Initially a 6 weeks contract. 

Duties

• Support and maintain various operating systems
• Assist with software troubleshooting across applications
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as system updates, backups, and security patches.
• Assist with the setup and deployment of new hardware or software for staff members and students
• Wiring cables in a safe and secure way

Qualifications

• Proven experience in IT support or help desk roles with a strong understanding of desktop support and technical troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of computer networking principles including firewalls, and network security protocols.
• Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows (including Windows Server)
• Experience supporting computer hardware components and peripherals.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly

• Hours 8am – 4pm Monday to Friday
• £14 per hour
