Job Title: Administrative Officer (AO) - Customer Service
Location: Middlesbrough
Pay: £12.86 per hour
Temporary assignment until January 2027 however high chance of extension
Must have valid right to work and be able to pass a DBS
Our Client, a reputable government organisation, is hiring for a dedicated Administrative Officer to support HMCTS services in Middlesbrough.
What you'll be doing:
* Undertaking all administrative tasks to prepare for, facilitate, and conclude various hearings.
* Providing users and stakeholders with support through face-to-face engagement, telephone calls (incoming and outgoing), and written correspondence, including those with complex needs.
* Using HMCTS service scripts and knowledge articles to direct users to relevant services and ensure they receive clear, specific information.
* Supporting users through complaints procedures, offering immediate assistance to prevent escalation, and updating case management systems accordingly.
* Identifying risks related to HMCTS buildings, informing the Senior Person on Site (SPoS), and responding promptly to safety concerns.
* Processing work in line with standard operating procedures to meet performance and service standards.
* Managing case files with accurate data entry, secure information handling, and compliance with retention policies.
* Handling jury service tasks such as selection, deferrals, reassignments, attendance tracking, and processing expenses.
* Assisting with listing and scheduling to optimise judicial time and respond to urgent matters efficiently.
* Providing judicial support, including diary management and administrative assistance.
* Supporting enforcement activities like financial assessments, fine collection, and generating basic reports.
* Contributing to health and safety operations, including facility checks, issue logging, and safety governance.
What you'll bring:
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
* Excellent communication skills, both face-to-face and over the phone.
* Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
* Proactive approach to problem-solving and risk management.
* Familiarity with standard operating procedures and data management.
* Ability to work effectively within a team and adapt to changing priorities.
Additional information:
* No specific formal qualifications are required, but a background in administrative support or customer service is beneficial.
* Experience with case management or court-related environments is desirable.
