About the role

Gravure Print Operator
Cramlington, Northumberland
£32,000 to £37,700
2 shift pattern early and late

Jackson Hogg is supporting a well established manufacturing site in Cramlington with the appointment of an experienced Gravure Print Operator. This role is critical to maintaining safe, high quality and efficient production across multi colour gravure printing lines.
This position will suit an operator who is confident running a press on shift, takes ownership of quality and understands the demands of a structured, compliance driven manufacturing environment.

The role

You will be responsible for the setup, operation and ongoing performance of gravure printing presses, ensuring all work is completed to specification, safely and in line with production schedules. Working closely with QA, engineering and production teams, you will play a key role in reducing waste, minimising downtime and maintaining consistent print quality.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Setting up and operating multi colour gravure printing presses
  • Installing engraved cylinders and setting ink flow, tension and registration
  • Interpreting job specifications and production schedules accurately
  • Monitoring print quality throughout runs and making necessary adjustments
  • Identifying and resolving press faults to reduce downtime
  • Completing production, quality and data capture documentation accurately
  • Working in line with strict health, safety and quality standards
  • Supporting and guiding print assistants on shift
  • Contributing to continuous improvement and best practice on site

What we are looking for

This role requires proven gravure printing experience and a strong quality focused mindset.
Essential skills and experience:
  • Proven experience operating gravure printing presses
  • Strong understanding of gravure processes, ink systems and cylinder preparation
  • Experience running multi colour presses
  • High attention to detail with strong colour matching capability
  • Ability to fault find and resolve press related issues
  • Understanding of quality systems and production documentation
  • Comfortable working within structured SOP driven environments

  • Two shift pattern early and late
