Pay Rate: £15.25 per hour (2-shift rate – advertised)
Initial Training Rate: £12.71 per hour (dayshift)
Contract: Temp to Perm
Shifts: 2 Shift Rotation (with flexibility for future 3 shifts)
Hours: 38.5 hours per week

Overview

We are currently recruiting for a skilled Punch / Laser Operative to join a busy primary operations team. This role will initially begin on a dayshift for induction before moving onto a 2-shift rotation.

The ideal candidate will have experience operating Trumpf punching machines, with additional experience in fibre or CO2 laser cutting (Trumpf or Bystronic) highly desirable. Key Responsibilities

• Setting and operating Trumpf punching machinery
• Operating fibre and/or CO2 laser cutting machines (training available if required)
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings (first and third angle projection)
• Working independently to complete jobs from start to finish
• Carrying out in-process inspections to the required standards and frequencies
• Performing machine setups and tool changes
• Ensuring all work meets quality and production targets
• Maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to health & safety procedures

Key Skills & Experience

• Proven experience operating Trumpf punch machines (essential)
• Experience with fibre lasers or CO2 lasers (desirable – Trumpf or Bystronic)
• Strong ability to read and understand engineering drawings
• Experience working in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
• Ability to work unsupervised and manage workload effectively
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Flexible approach to working patterns

Pay & Benefits

Production Staff:

• £15.25 per hour (2-shift rate, including shift premium)
• Overtime paid at:
  • 1.5x (Monday–Saturday)
  • 2.0x (Sunday)
• 23 days holiday plus bank holidays (paid hourly)

Working Hours

Dayshift (Induction):

• Monday – Thursday: 08:00 – 17:00
• Friday: 08:00 – 12:30

2 Shift Rotation (20% shift premium):

Early Shift:

• Monday – Thursday: 06:00 – 14:30
• Friday: 06:00 – 12:30

Back Shift:

• Monday – Thursday: 14:30 – 23:00
• Friday: 12:30 – 19:00

Potential 3 Shift Pattern (25% shift premium):

• Includes night shifts (Sunday–Thursday rotation)
