About the role
We’re partnering with a national retail plc to strengthen its growing Supply Chain function and recruit a talented Supply & Demand Planner. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established business that’s investing in its planning capability, where you’ll play a key role in ensuring the right products are available at the right time while supporting continued business growth.
Working as part of a collaborative Supply Planning team, you’ll be responsible for balancing customer demand with supply, improving forecast accuracy, managing inventory and working cross-functionally with Commercial, Buying, Operations and Logistics teams to deliver exceptional service.
As a Supply & Demand Planner, you’ll be responsible for:
- Producing and maintaining accurate demand forecasts using sales trends, commercial insight and market data.
- Developing supply plans that balance customer demand with stock availability and inventory targets.
- Monitoring forecast accuracy and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Working closely with Buying, Commercial, Operations and Logistics teams to understand promotions, seasonal demand and new product launches.
- Identifying potential supply risks, stock shortages and excess inventory, implementing proactive solutions.
- Supporting the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process through analysis and reporting.
- Analysing planning KPIs and providing actionable recommendations to improve performance.
- Maintaining accurate planning data and producing regular reports to support business decisions.
- Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure an effective end-to-end planning process.
To be successful in this role, you’ll ideally have:
- Previous experience within Supply Planning, Demand Planning or a similar Supply Chain Planning role.
- Strong forecasting and inventory management experience.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are essential, with experience of Power BI highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across multiple departments.
- A proactive, organised approach with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
