About the role
Are you a qualified secondary teacher with a passion for inclusive education? Whether you are looking for the absolute flexibility of day-to-day supply or the stability and continuity of a long-term placement, we have rewarding opportunities tailored to your needs.
We are recruiting dedicated SEN Secondary Teachers for daily and long-term roles at wonderful specialist schools, academy trusts, and alternative provisions across Cambridge and the surrounding area.
This is a fantastic opportunity to step away from mainstream pressures and focus on truly child-centred learning, supporting young people with a range of additional needs including Autism (ASD), Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD).
Choose the Path that Suits Your Career:
Day-to-Day Supply: Take full control of your working week. Deliver pre-planned lessons and support consistent class teams across the secondary age range without the burden of ongoing planning, marking, or parents' evenings.
Long-Term Placements: Enjoy the stability of a consistent timetable for a term or a full academic year. You will lead a class group, adapt the secondary curriculum to meet specific sensory and cognitive levels, and build deeply meaningful relationships with pupils and their families.
What We Are Looking For:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised equivalent teaching qualification. (Preferred)
Experience teaching within an SEN setting, or a mainstream secondary teacher with a strong background in differentiation and a passion for transitioning into specialist sectors.
Excellent behaviour management skills, utilising a calm, nurturing, and positive de-escalation approach.
The ability to adapt secondary subject content to meet individual education plans (IEPs) and varying communication styles (such as PECS or Makaton, though not essential).
A valid Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or a willingness to apply for one).
What Is in it for You?
Excellent rates of pay, paid weekly and reflective of your experience and the specific assignment type (supply or long-term scale).
Free access to specialist CPD courses to expand your SEN toolkit (including safeguarding, autism awareness, and positive behaviour management).
A dedicated local consultant with expert knowledge of the Cambridgeshire specialist education sector.
The chance to experience different local provisions-ideal if you are testing the waters of SEN teaching or looking for a future permanent contract.
Ready to make a real difference to young people who need it most?
Take the next step in your teaching journey in a supportive, specialist environment.
How to Apply: Please send your CV and a brief introduction to [email removed] or call [phone removed] to have a friendly, confidential chat about our current openings in Cambridge.
We are strictly committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All candidates will be required to undergo comprehensive vetting, reference checks, and an enhanced DBS disclosure.
