Location: Stoke -on-Trent, Staffordshire

Hours: Part-time (25hrs a week)

Start: Sept 2026

Zest Education are currently recruiting for an experienced and reliable Caretaker to join a welcoming Primary School in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire.

Key Responsibilities

• To be responsible for maintaining the security of the premises and its contents including monitoring the schools CCTV system.
• To clean light fittings, replacing where necessary minor parts such as bulbs and fuses in accordance with safe working practices.
• To ensure school premises are kept free from debris and the grounds are litter free.
• To be responsible for ensuring clear and safe pedestrian access to the school, particularly in adverse weather conditions.
• To dispose of waste material in a safe, hygienic manner, ensuring that it is available for collection as required.
• Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, reporting all concerns.

You Will Need:

• Previous experience in a Caretaker / Site Maintenance position.
• An Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to complete one).
• Ability to organise, lead and motivate other staff.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
