Contract Duration: Temporary for 3 to 6 months

Hours of Work: 8:30am-5pm

Days of Work: Monday – Friday

Work Format: Fully office based

Hourly Rate: £35,000 – £40,000 (paid hourly)

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to join our client on a temporary 3–6 month contract. This role will lead a small AP team while ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day accounts payable operations and supporting process improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, support and develop a small Accounts Payable team.
• Oversee the accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices, expenses and payments.
• Manage supplier accounts, resolving queries and outstanding balances.
• Maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with company procedures.
• Support month-end activities, reconciliations and audit requirements.
• Identify and implement process improvements to drive efficiency and accuracy.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to enhance finance processes and service delivery.
• Act as the escalation point for complex AP issues.

Requirements

• Proven Accounts Payable experience, including team management or supervisory responsibility.
• Strong understanding of financial controls and accounting processes.
• Track record of improving processes and driving operational efficiencies.
• Excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience using ERP systems and strong Excel skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.

Desirable

• Experience with SAP or a similar ERP system.
• Background within manufacturing, industrial or multi-site environments.
• AAT qualified, part-qualified ACCA/CIMA, or equivalent.
• Exposure to automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
