Job Title: Security Project Engineer (Utilities)
Location: Peterborough
Salary: From £45,000 to £50,000 per annum
Are you looking for a Security Project Engineer position working in Peterborough? As a Security Project Engineer, you will support the successful delivery of security and fire projects across the utilities sector, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget and to the highest standards. You will be working for an established organisation delivering critical infrastructure projects across the UK.
Responsibilities:
● Support Project Managers with the successful delivery of security and fire projects
● Attend pre-start, client and site meetings with contractors and stakeholders
● Oversee, validate and commission security systems including CCTV, Access Control, Intruder Alarms and Intercom systems
● Occasionally carry out installation, maintenance and repair activities when required
● Manage subcontractors and engineering resources on site
● Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget, escalating issues where necessary
● Carry out testing, preventative maintenance and commissioning activities in line with British Standards
● Complete post-installation inspections and maintain accurate project reporting
● Ensure all health and safety procedures are adhered to on site
● Provide technical support and guidance to colleagues and project teams
● Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and cost savings across projects
Experience and Certifications Required:
● A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar Security Project Engineer role
● Strong experience with CCTV, Access Control, Intruder Alarm and Intercom systems
● Experience commissioning and overseeing security system installations
● Experience working within utilities, critical infrastructure or large-scale security projects
● Strong understanding of relevant British Standards and industry best practices
● Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise directly with clients and contractors
● Full UK driving licence
