About the role
Data Centre Project Manager | £60,000-£65,000 | Oxford
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a background in construction to join our clients team.
This role focuses on delivering cutting-edge data centre facilities for global, high-profile clients. Operating internationally, the organisation specialises in designing and building advanced infrastructure to meet the evolving demands of modern technology environments.
You will play a pivotal role in leading projects to construct or refurbish data centre facilities, ensuring they meet precise design specifications, are delivered on schedule, and remain within budget.
As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for driving project success from start to finish – coordinating planning, execution, and delivery. You will manage risks effectively, maintain clear and detailed progress reporting, and ensure alignment with stakeholder expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver project plans, adjusting as required to meet evolving needs
- Maintain task trackers for follow-up actions and recommendations
- Produce and manage acceptance records in line with ITP plans
- Create project initiation documentation for approval
- Review and manage quality and risk registers
- Develop communication, risk, and quality management strategies
- Identify resource requirements and assign responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day project operations
- Ensure all project documentation is accurate, current, and properly stored
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders to ensure successful delivery
- Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial performance, addressing any variances
- Work with design and installation teams to produce work packages
- Liaise with stakeholders to gather requirements and assess feasibility
- Maintain daily project logs and lessons learned records
- Review and approve quality plans
- Produce exception plans when required
- Deliver project checkpoint reports, monitor progress, and implement contingency plans
- Prepare highlight reports, final project reports, and customer satisfaction surveys
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Proficient in Microsoft Project
Qualifications & Requirements
- Working knowledge of PRINCE2 project methodology
- Full, clean driving licence
- Willingness to travel internationally
- Flexibility to work away from home when required
