Support Worker FEMALE

We have a female support worker job available to work with our 30-year-old client, E. E has suffered a stroke and acquired brain injury and requires support to live independently from her close-knit family. She enjoys listening to music, Pilates, nights out to see live bands, going for a meal or spending time with her small fur babies. 

Female Support Worker Job/Client:

E has had epilepsy all her life which is managed by medication, but following elective surgery, 6 years ago she suffered a stroke. She is mobile but has left-sided weakness which affects her mobility (she is a part-time wheelchair user) and hand function.  E is fully verbal.  She can become anxious at times and rigid in her thinking due to her brain injury.

You will assist E to access the community and will be required to provide assistance with tasks such as helping her with her contact lenses, hair and make up, helping her with her splints, setting up her catheter, running a bath for her, making her bed.  She needs some assistance with tasks which require fine motor skills such as opening lids.

You will be required to help prepare meals and there will be some light cleaning.

About You:

We are looking for a patient, empathetic person who is able to calm E when she becomes anxious. You will be a caring, friendly, reliable and have a positive outlook on life as well as being flexible and a good timekeeper. E has pet rats and a hamster so you will be an animal lover with no allergies.

Previous experience working in Care is preferred but please do apply if you have limited experience as full training will be provided and you will be supported by a Team Leader and Case Manager.

You will need to be a driver able to drive our client’s automatic vehicle and take her to Pilates classes, hydrotherapy and therapy sessions.

Pay:

£16 per hour
£150 flat rate for sleeping nights

Hours / Shifts:

Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays – 9.00 to 23:00

Fridays – 9:00 to 14:30

Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays – Sleep in shifts – 23:00 to 09:00
