English Teacher – Secondary School

Daily Rate: £150 – £220

We are currently recruiting an English Teacher to join a welcoming Secondary School in Rochdale on a long-term basis starting in September. This English Teacher position is temp-to-perm for the right candidate.

You will be joining an ambitious school in Rochdale focused on academic excellence and student wellbeing. This is a standout opportunity for an English Teacher to establish themselves within a department that champions inclusive learning and high standards.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering engaging English lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 for this Rochdale school

• Supporting pupils of all abilities to achieve their full potential in English Language and Literature

• Managing classroom behaviour effectively to maintain a focused, respectful learning environment

• Working collaboratively with the departmental team in Rochdale to track student progress and develop curriculum materials

• Upholding school safeguarding policies and fostering a positive atmosphere across the Rochdale campus

Requirements or Skills:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification in Secondary English

• Recent experience delivering the UK English curriculum up to GCSE level

• Strong classroom management and communication skills

• Passion for teaching English and supporting diverse student needs in Rochdale

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to complete one)

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
