About the Role

We are recruiting for a Class 2 Driver on behalf of our client based in Castle Vale, Birmingham. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity, offering the chance to secure a permanent position following a successful temporary period.

The role involves multi-drop palletised deliveries and collections, working as part of a professional and supportive transport team.

During your first two to three days, you’ll receive full on-the-job training alongside one of the client’s experienced drivers. This includes loading and unloading procedures, use of manual and electric pump trucks, handheld scanners, yard procedures and health & safety processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete planned multi-drop pallet deliveries and collections.
• Carry out up to two delivery routes per day where required.
• Safely load and unload vehicles using manual or electric pump trucks.
• Operate vehicle tail lifts safely and efficiently.
• Use handheld scanners to record deliveries and collections accurately.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report any defects.
• Deliver excellent customer service at every delivery location.
• Follow all company procedures and health & safety guidelines.
• Maintain accurate delivery records and comply with all driving regulations.

Essential Requirements

• Valid UK Class 2 (Category C) HGV Licence.
• Minimum of 2 years’ HGV driving experience.
• No more than 6 penalty points (no major endorsements).
• Experience completing multi-drop palletised deliveries.
• Experience carrying out kerbside deliveries.
• Flexible approach to meet operational requirements.
• Available to start shifts at either 06:30 or 07:00.

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Experience using handheld delivery scanners (EDC).
• Experience operating manual or electric pump trucks.
• Experience using vehicle tail lifts.
• Good geographical knowledge.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Training will be provided where required.
