About the role

Residential Surveyor

Location: North East England
Salary: Negotiable depending on experience

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Residential Surveyor to join a growing and ambitious independent surveying practice in the North East. This role offers the chance to work within a supportive, quality-focused environment where surveyors are given the time and resources needed to deliver exceptional service and high-standard reporting.

The successful candidate will undertake a range of residential surveying services, including RICS Level 2 Home Surveys, RICS Level 3 Building Surveys, residential valuations, New Build Snagging Surveys (where qualified), and specialist property inspections.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out residential property inspections across the North East, primarily covering Northumberland, Newcastle upon Tyne, Gateshead and Sunderland.
  • Produce accurate and comprehensive RICS Level 2 Home Survey and RICS Level 3 Building Survey reports.
  • Undertake residential valuations where appropriate.
  • Conduct pre- and post-survey client calls to discuss findings and recommendations.
  • Utilise modern surveying technology, including specialist software, tablets and drone technology.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service and professional technical advice.
  • Work closely with an experienced administration team who manage diary scheduling and appointments.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • AssocRICS, MRICS or be working towards Chartered status.
  • Previous experience within residential surveying.
  • Excellent report-writing and communication skills.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Strong organisational skills and keen attention to detail.
  • A customer-focused approach with high professional standards.

Why Join?

Unlike volume-driven firms, quality takes priority over quantity. Surveyors are typically allocated just 6–8 inspections per week, allowing sufficient time to carry out detailed property inspections, produce high-quality reports and provide an exceptional client experience without excessive workload.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your career within a fast-growing independent surveying practice that genuinely values its people and professional standards.
