About the role

Field Service Engineer
UK Travel Required – The majority of client sites sit around the Midlands (Nottingham/Birmingham), Manchester and Liverpool areas, however you must be prepared to travel nationally Mon – Friday.
Permanent | £48,000 + OTE £60,000
 
If you’re an engineer who enjoys fault finding, working independently and getting stuck into real world problems on site, this is a role worth looking at.

What you’ll be doing
– Attending breakdowns and diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults
– Carrying out servicing, repairs and planned maintenance
– Supporting installation and commissioning of new equipment
– Working on automated machinery including electrical controls, hydraulics and pneumatics
– Representing the business on site and building strong relationships with customers
 
What’s important for this role
– Strong fault finding experience across Electrical and Mechanical systems
– Confident working on breakdowns and solving problems independently
– Some exposure to PLC fault finding is highly desirable
– Experience with automated machinery, CNC, robotics or similar equipment
– Comfortable reading technical drawings and working methodically
 
What you need to be comfortable with
– Regular UK travel and staying away during the week
– Working autonomously on customer sites
– Taking ownership of jobs and seeing them through
